Marc Sokpolie has a proper grip on pencils, Sharpies, markers and other analog tools. Of African/Dutch descent, he grew up in Holland where the big picture began at age three, drawing on a sketchpad, lying flat on the floor in a supermarket.
Marc’s style is determined by his hand, inner eye,
limbic system and coffee intake. Seriously, many thoughts are embedded in his drawings. He studied physical therapy from age 19 and learned everything there is to know about human anatomy. Whether you’ll see actual muscle or bones in the drawings depends on the story behind it, but there is always a quick stroke where a kneecap or muscle outline should be rather than shading or ‘flesh color’.
Marc dislikes ruler-straight lines and rather lets a too-much-coffee-and-too-little-breakfast tremor dictate how straight a line can get.
